UPDATE: The stock market has plummeted about -777.68 points in just a few hours!!!!
The reason for the sudden burst? The House this morning rejected the $700 billion emergency rescue for the nation’s financial system. As of late last night, things were looking up for President Bush and his emergency plan. Republicans this morning had a different vibe on things.
The house voted 228-205, and just like that the bill was rejected.
Now, President Bush must come forth with a new revised plan to defeat the economic crisis at large. Bush planned to meet this afternoon with his Economic advisers to devise yet another rescue plan.
Crude oil futures fell $10.68 to close at $92.21 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. They have lost nearly $25 since last Monday, and dropped sharply as the House voting began.
Concerns that the crisis might be spreading to Europe helped to push down the value of the European common currency. The euro dropped against the dollar to $1.43 on Monday from $1.46 on Friday.

It looks like congressional leaders have got what they have been waiting for. The $700 Billion bailout Rescue Deal of banks and other financial institutions holding bad mortgages debts, should be underway by the reopen of the world’s stock markets tomorrow.
Congressional leaders will face yet another challenge this week, with the House expected to vote on the plan as soon as Monday, and Senate as soon Wednesday.
The two-stage bailout is a whopping $700 Billion, which is now federal debt on the nation’s taxpayers! damn!
Now here is the catch, the congressional leaders must divide the bailout into two phases, starting with the first $350 billion payout, then requiring a second congressional approval for the next installment.
“Getting this done soon, promptly, is absolutely critical to the confidence of the markets.” Sen, Judd Gregg, one of the leader negotiators, said Sunday, predicting the votes approve it this week. “The option of not passing is not acceptable.”
What do you guys think? This will bring our national debt to around $10-$13 Trillion, depending on what source you go by.
And what effects will this really have? Short term? Long term? Can we gaurantee this will be the “end-all” fix to this economic crisis?
Let’s watch and see how this plays out over the week.

September 20, 2008: So on my list of things to do this weekend, I have decided FINALLY to transfer all my music from my Sony Vaio, to the IBM Thinkpad my college provides for students. We do get pretty hooked up!
So my Dad purchased me a Sony Vaio about 2 years ago, the computer is amazing. Weighs less than 2lbs, very fast, and is really great for traveling. I now do not need two laptops at home. With an additional desktop just down the hall.
Now that I transferred schools, I have been pretty lazy to switch everything over to the new IBM.
I just google’d a guide to transferring itunes libraries, playlists, counts, etc. over to a new computer. Apparently Apple already has us covered. There is a great website where they provide instructions on how to either transfer libraries via your iPod, or by burning data cd’s.
Which ever you prefer, the instructions are straight forward. I’m going to work on it now. Any questions, leave one in the comments.
Oh and GET A GRAVATAR!!!!
Former Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker and friend DJ AM were injured in a fatal plane crash before midnight on Friday. The Learjet 60 crashed during takeoff from South Carolina’s Columbia Metropolitan Airport.
Barker & DJ AM are said to be in critical condition, both being treated for severe burns at an Augusta, Georgia burn center.
The four other passengers on board perished.
The deceased have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, CA. Co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, CA, Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, and Charles Still, 25 of Los Angeles, CA.
Chris Baker of Studio City was Travis’s assistant.
WIS NEWS 10, of South Carolina spoke with a witness who saw a fireball cross the road. The man said he didn’t know what it was, until he was able to identify the pieces as the tail of a jet.
Apparently, Barker & DJ AM were running around trying to estinquish themselves. They told witnesses that there were four others on board, but the wreck was horrible.
I can’t believe these two guys survived. They are incredibly lucky.
R.I.P. to those four passengers that lost their lives.
