Five days after her untimely passing, Amy Winehouse shares the cover of VIBE‘s August/September JUICE issue with Kelly Rowland. One of Amy’s closest friends/music producer Salaam Remi talk about her final days. Grab a copy of the issue when it hits news stands on August 16th.
I’m in London now. I’m out here because [Amy and I] were supposed to go to a wedding today. And before I could get to her yesterday she passed. We were going to the wedding of Nick Symansky, who is the person who really found her. He found her when he was a scout at 19. And he was the manager before they got the Universal deal.
They went ahead with the wedding. All I could do was sit there and imagine how many jokes she would have been cracking with me. We were in the middle of working on the album. She finished writing the record. We just hadn’t recorded.
For the last couple of weeks we were video chatting regularly. I was just talking to Nas. Both her and Nas were born on September 14, so we were going to Barbados with all of them for her birthday. She really doesn’t look forward to her birthday, you know what I’m saying?
Side note: Amy’s debut album, Back To Black has returned to the Billboard charts at #9 with 37,000 copies sold and #1 on iTunes.

Late last night, Frank Ocean fired off a new tune via tumblr entitled “Thinking About You”. Not sure if this will make an album or mixtape, but have a listen regardless.

New music from his next album already? Well, that’s what it looks like with Chris Brown‘s latest tune entitled “Open Road (I Love Her)”. Although he does have a mixtape in the works, this isn’t exactly hip hop material for that project.

Ace Hood delivers the music video for his Chris Brown assisted track “Body 2 Body”, cut off the rapper’s upcoming album, Blood, Sweat & Tears. The video was shot in the Hollywood Hills, and features cameos by Rick Ross and DJ Khaled.

Rihanna‘s Loud tour stopped off in New York City on Monday evening, and fans got one hell of a surprise when she brought out Jay-Z during her set. Ri-Ri and Jigga performed “Run This Town” in addition to “Umbrella”.

Hot new artist Kreayshawn is the talk of the town with her popular new single “Gucci Gucci”, which landed her a very lucrative recording contract with Columbia Records. Earlier this month she performed the single at MTV’s Time Square studio to a room full of female fans.

50 Cent is back at it again with his label Interscope Records. Last month he threatened to leave the label if they wouldn’t put out his new album in the coming months, now he’s ticked they’ve turned on him once again.
50 took to Twitter to share his disappointment with Interscope and the fate of his upcoming album. “Man I’m not releasing a album i can’t believe interscope is this f*cked up right now. I apologize to all my fans”, wrote a ticked off 50.
This might have something to do with his new single “Outlaw” which is currently No. 141 on iTunes. “I will work with other artist on there projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time to many”.
So what is 50 to do? Well, he plans on leaking a single off Dr. Dre‘s highly anticipated album Detox. “I LOVE DRE but I’m putting his next single psycho out tomorrow at 2:00 #SK. Your gonna love it its a big song I just don’t think it deserves a great set up sense they can’t seem to get it right when it comes to me.”

Over the weekend Lauryn Hill gave birth to baby number six, only problem is it looks like her longtime on-again-off-again boyfriend Rohan Marley was nowhere in sight…feeding the rumors that he’s not the father. Upon hearing that Lauryn gave birth, Rohan took to Twitter to share his excitement for her:
“I’m forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son. I’m sure she’ll appreciate the love being sent to her RASTAFARI R.M.”
Hmm….pretty interesting. If he were the father I’m not sure he would be sending her his “well wishes” over Twitter about her “new son”.
Two days later, Lauryn took to Twitter to respond to the rumors about their relationship and her new child:
Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex historyabout which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning. To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son. Until next time, Ms. Hill.”
Make of it what you want, but it surely doesn’t sound like Rohan is the father of baby number six.
